State of the Rage address
You may have noticed a serious lack of content over the last year. Life has a way of getting in the way and all the good stuff gets put on the back burner. Aside from that, there’s been a total lack of focus as far as what we want RQP to be.
We don’t just want to do the same shit as everyone else. Mostly because we don’t give a shit about what everyone else does. The idea for this site started 2 years ago at PAX East. We knew we wanted to do something and basically just threw everything at the wall to see what sticks. Try to “build our brand” as they say. After this year’s PAX I think I finally narrowed that focus down.
More and more I look at what is popular in the world of gaming media and I can honestly say I just don’t get it. The latest Youtube celebrities, twitter meltdowns, reddit controversies, I don’t fucking care. I want to play games, that’s all, and that’s what we’re going to start building on.
We’re not going to be the place to find early reviews of the latest generic AAA game. We’re not going to be discussing the merits of early access or the evils of day one DLC. We’re not going to jump on any side of whatever the fuck drama the internet at large has decided is totally important. We’re going to play some games that we think look rad and we’re going to tell you about them. We’re going to have some drinks and record ourselves being assholes to each other while making dick and fart jokes. We’re adults, god damn it, and we’re going to have some fun.
There was some amazing shit at PAX East this year and over the next few days I’m going to be talking about it. Then we’re going to talk about some other games. Not because they’re important, not because we need to raise awareness, but because we think they’re cool and maybe you will too.
